Opportunity for Ohio
Assuring Ohio’s future requires a renewed focus on educating a multilingual and globally competent workforce. On October 25, 2007, key leaders and innovators from business, government, community and education will gather to share a clear and compelling portrait of current and projected foreign language needs in Ohio resulting from months of intense study by more than 70 stakeholders from across the state.
Ohio is playing a leadership role in coordinating and assessing the demand for language skills in our country. To position ourselves for the world of tomorrow, it’s clear we must produce a workforce able to live as international citizens with the skills to compete in a global economy. The Ohio Language Roadmap for the 21st Century event is one of a series of Ohio activities from June through October, 2007 surrounding this issue. |
