About the Overseas Program

The Ohio State University Chinese Flagship in Columbus, Ohio acts as the U.S. logistic operation center (QPLUS). QPLUS centralizes and optimizes the management of all pre-departure aspects of Chinese Flagship Overseas Programs at The Qingdao Center. It is a single U.S. point of contact and administration for Qingdao summer programs, and provides all Chinese Flagship programs with a smooth process for admitting, placing, orienting, and sending students from varied backgrounds to Qingdao Center.

Qingdao Programs Logistics-US (QPLUS), coordinates all pre-departure activities for Chinese Flagship summer programs in Qingdao, China including:

  1. Student applications for four levels of instruction
  2. Placement of students in their appropriate levels
  3. Collection of program fees
  4. Visa applications
  5. Pre-departure orientation

QPLUS serves the entire Chinese Flagship community from its office in Columbus, Ohio. Upon arrival in China, students going to Qingdao are coordinated by the Flagship Qingdao Center.

The summer overseas programs are designed for students who have reached the ACTFL intermediate-mid level of Chinese language proficiency and have been admitted to Chinese Flagship programs at Western Kentucky University, University of Rhode Island, University of Oregon, University of Mississippi, San Francisco State University, Ohio State University, Indiana University, Brigham Young University, and Arizona State University.
