Xuezhou Yu

Biography

Xuezhou Yu is currently the Director of the International Department at Qingdao TV. He holds his B.A. in Chinese Literature from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Shandong University. He has many broadcasted television works including an eight episode television documentary titled Made in Qingdao: A Brief History of a City's Industrialization, a 12 episode documentary titled Qingdao Moments: 12 Moments in 120 Years, among many others. Mr. Yu has also published three books, one being Critics and Commentaries of Yuwei Caotang Biji. He is also a board member of the Qingdao Classical Literature Research Association, the Documentary Film Committee of the China Broadcasting and Televistion Association, and the Qingdao Broadcasting and Television Association.

Kanghou Chen

Biography

Kanghou Chen is currently the Senior Engineer of the Nanshan District Science and Techonology Bureau, the Secretary-General of the Science and Technology Association, the Secretary-General of the Nanshan PhD Association, among many other titles. His previous experience includes: 1991-1994 teacher at Shenzhen Nanshan Xili High School, 1982-1991 lecturer and Associate Director at the Jiangsu Xuzhou TV University, 1975-1978 worker at the Jiangsu Province Construction Machinery Plant in Xuzhou City, and from 1970-1975 a farmer. Mr. Chen graduated from Xuzhou Normal University in 1982 with his Bachelor's degree in Physics. He also participated in the Peking University Physics Theory postgraduate course from 1985-1986.

Of his many accomplishments, some of the most notable include his participation as an activisit in the Construction of Spiritual Civilization in Shenzhen City. Futhermore, as the first head of soft science, he completed two government issues of study on the soft environment for the development of small and medium-sized sci-tech enterprises in the Nanshan District of Shenzhen City, and Shenzhen current situation and countermeasures of middle and small enterprises of science and technology research and development services.

Dr. Hongjun Hui

Biography

Dr. Hongjun Hui is a native of Pucheng in the Shaanxi Province and is an Assistant Professor at Guizhou Minzu University. He is also a part of the Guizhou Minzu University Young Adult Academic Core, the Education Core, is a member of the Guizhou Province Language Committee and is a tester in the Provincial Level Standard Mandarin Test. Dr. Hui's major undertakings include research and education in: Chinese language history, Modern Chinese, language theory, and applied linguistics. Courses that he has already taught include: Modern Chinese, Ancient Chinese, applied linguistics, standard language studies and Standard Mandarin, semiotics, and Chinese as a second language classes in spoken and written language, as well as Chinese culture. 

Dr. Hongjun Hui currently is the Director to a program in the National Department of Education, a program in the Guizhou Provincial Education Department, and a program in Guizhou Minzu University. He also participated in a program in the National Social Sciences Foundation, a published one book, and has also published 10 works in both the core and common journals of CSSCI. 

Shanshan Qiu

Biography

Shanshan Qiu is an acclaimed writer in China; her works include novels such as Spring Grass (Chun Cao), short story collections, documentary prose, collected essays, biographies, and play, movie and TV series scripts. Of her many awards, she has received the 4th Annual Lu Xun Literary Prize, 4th Annual Bing Xin Essay Prize, the China National Newspaper and Magazine Golden Prize, and many others. She currently is a teacher and editor in the Chengdu Military Command in the Chinese People's Liberation Army. While here at OSU, she taught the Chinese 5th level course based on her novel Spring Grass (Chun Cao).

Shengming Yang

Biography

Shengming Yang is currently the Deputy Director of the International Affairs Committee of the Guizhou Province Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Her area of expertise centers on tourism and travel. She holds her MA in Economics and Management from the Party School of Central Committe of CPC, and her BA in English Language and Literature from Guizhou University.

Dr. Hongchao Wang

Biography

Dr. Hongchao Wang holds his PhD in Western Aesthetics from Fudan University in Shanghai, China. He is currently a post-doctoral student of Comparative Literature and World Literature in the School of Humanities at Shanghai Normal University. Dr. Wang's PhD dissertation was titled Discipline and Thought: the Origin of Modern Chinese Aesthetics. His other reaserch areas include the history of Modern Chinese Aesthetics, Chinese Classical Aesthetics, Western Aesthetics in China, the early development of Marxism philosophy in China, among others. Dr. Wang also has many publications of both books and articles. His two published books include: Study on the Sinification of Marxist Literary Theory and Aesthetics Dictionary.

Na Li

Biography

Ms. Li is the Marketing Director at Hunan TV International Channel and is an expert in media presentation and production, culture and business development. While here at OSU she taught specifically on intercultural communication, business culture in China, and the preservation of local culture.

Xiaosong Zhang

Biography

Dr. Xiaosong Zhang is currently a Professor in the College of International Tourism and Culture at Guizhou Normal University. Her areas of expertise include anthropology, cultures, and developing economies. While here at OSU she taught courses on intercultural communications and the preservation of local culture.

Dr. Ruiyue Li

Biography

Dr. Ruiyue Li holds his PhD in Law from the China University of Political Science and Law and is currently the Associate General Manager at the CITIC Real Estate Development Corporation. His previous positions include: Director of the Department of Legal Affairs at CITIC Assets Management Corporation from 2004-2005, President of MCC Construction Corporation from 2002-2005, among other previous positions. 

Dr. Li is also a member of the China Law Society, an arbitrator at the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Committee, a professor of International Law at China University of Political Science and Law, and is also a member of the advisory board for the Great Wall Technology Company Ltd.
