Internship Program

The Global Professional Service (GPS) Corps places individuals in 1-11 month project-driven internships throughout China. Through their internships, participants learn how to make themselves valued contributors to a China-based operation in the participant’s field of knowledge. The GPS Corps began in 1997, when it was called the US/China Links internship program. The accumulated experience of the GPS Corps staff and its alumni make it possible for you to jump-start your China-related career by developing the skills and personal network necessary for professional success.

Internship placements vary based on each individual's field of study/expertise, internship length and time of year, and Chinese language ability. GPS Corps can place individuals with any level of Chinese language skill, from zero to native-speaker.

Past internships include:

  • Tenwen Law Offices
  • Ries, Chuang & Wong Branding Strategies
  • CCTV
  • Hunan Television
  • China Investment & Trade Commission
  • Guizhou World Bank Cultural Heritage Preservation Project

Because interns are doing real work, all internship hosts provide some form of compensation. Depending on the host, this ranges from free housing to a modest stipend.
